In this article we will be listing out all the Samsung Galaxy firmware PDA And CSC codes list along with a detailed explanation for each.
Did you ever wondered what do the numbers and letters on your Galaxy phone firmware version mean? I actually did it in the past, but made a detailed study about it that resulted in this detailed article which will explain every aspect of the CSC / PDA codes loud and clear. First of all the firmware version name has two parts, the first one is called the PDA and the second one called is CSC.
Now lets get an idea what do these abbreviations actually mean.
What is a PDA Code?
PDA represents the Core OS build along with the phone model number, country/region code, bootloader version and release date.
What are the numbers and letters in a PDA Code mean?
As shown in the image the first 5 letters (eg: G930F) is your phone’s model number. The next two letters (eg: XX) denotes the country/ region code. Now the next 3 letters denotes the bootloader version (eg: U2E) of your phone, in this example the bootloader version is “2”. The last 3 letters denotes the release date (REM), in the example “R” means “2018”, “E” means May and “M” means the date.
For example “REM” means 2018-05-13.
Now you know what is PDA, now lets find out what is CSC.
What is a CSC Code?
CSC stands for “Country Specific Code“. This is were all the customizations takes place and the code denotes the “country/carrier” it belongs. Various CSC versions of the same firmware version may contain customized settings, system configurations, localizations and geo-specific things such as the system language, APN settings, and carrier specific branding.
As shown in the above image “A700FD” denotes Galaxy A7 2015 dual SIM model and the country code “OLB” denotes Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand or Vietnam. So if you have a phone with that code it can be of any of the before said countries.
How to find the PDA and CSC versions of your phone?
For that please type in *#1234# on your phone’s dialer and you will get all the information like shown below;
Here “AP” denotes “PDA“.
